El triunfo de la democracia liberal. Crítica de las concepciones procedimentales de la democracia

Abstract

«The triumph of liberal democracy. Criticism of the procedural conceptions of democracy». This paper is focused on the thesis of the definitely triumph of liberal democracy and the procedural conceptions of democracy that underlie the studies of democratization processes which provide empirical support for that thesis. To this end, it analyzes the concepts, attributes and «measurements» of democracy provided by S. P. Huntington (1), R. Dahl (2) and L. Diamond (3), it makes several critical assessments about their deficiencies (4) and, finally, it proposes some suggestions for overcoming them (5).
